WhatsApp has recently reduced the limit of video playback on their WhatsApp status feature. The update has been rolled out in India and will be soon ruled out in other parts of the world as well.

Several reports suggest that the decision is made to is the internet bandwidth which is being used at maximum because of people staying at home in this lockdown because of the coronavirus.

Last week, the Prime Minister of India, Mr Narendra Modi, announced that the nation would be going under lockdown for the next 21 days, which would be till 15th of April 2020.

Because of the lockdown, people are staying at home and turning to online streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime to kill their time.

Several other II web companies have been directed to reduce the resolution of the content to ease and prevent it from crashing.

Facebook’s decision to reduce the time duration of videos on WhatsApp status could be temporary. Still, on the other hand, Facebook also has got this feature enabled on Facebook. We are the video duration limit has been 16 seconds from the beginning.

So it is sure whether this is a temporary move or to the features offered on WhatsApp status and Facebook stories. Another interesting. Is that currently Facebook allows WhatsApp users to post their WhatsApp status on Facebook as well, my popping up the option after the video has been posted on WhatsApp status.

You still can post multiple WhatsApp status, which means you can still put up a video longer than 16 seconds, but that has to be in parts. You can read this article to know how we can post longer stories on WhatsApp.
