The Samsung Galaxy Fold is finally ready to be launched or is already launched depending on when you are reading this article. The launch date it is 6th September, e the first country for the Samsung Galaxy Fold to be launched in South Korea.
Samsung unveiled Galaxy Fold smartphone along with the Galaxy S series earlier this year, but delete the launch because of some in issues with the foldable screen.
Now that the issue has been addressed, the smartphone is ready to be launched and so be available in other countries as well.
Specifications of the Galaxy Fold smartphone
The Snapdragon 855 chipset is used to power the smartphone. Since it is a foldable Smartphone, it has two displays.
The external display is 4.6-inch 720×1680 pixels while the full screen is a 7.3-inch 1536×2152 pixel.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold brings an ample amount of storage with a base variant of 512 GB along with 12GB of RAM.
The smartphone has a triple camera setup [12MP Wide+12MP Telephoto +16MP Ultrawide]
It has three selfie cameras, two cameras at the external display when the Galaxy Fold is closed.
These are 10MP and 8MP cameras, both wide, the 8MP camera being the depth sensor.
And the third camera is a 10MP a wide-angle camera on the inner display.
To power the big displays, Samsung Galaxy Fold has 4280mAh battery with 15W support.
Price and Availability
It is probably the most expensive Samsung smartphone.
Priced at around $2,000 which converts to roughly Rs 143000, has top specifications. The smartphone is launching in South Korea on Friday, 6th September.
The US launch and launch in other countries will be coming in the next few months.
Samsung is planning to launch a cheaper Galaxy Fold
At a $2,000 price tag, Samsung knows that Samsung Galaxy Fold is quite an inexpensive smartphone.
With all the top and specification the smartphone has, Samsung usually sells its flagship series for around $1000.
Samsung is asking for $2000 for the Samsung Galaxy Fold because of the foldable screen, and Samsung knows that it is a tough ask, which is why it is reported that the. Company is planning to launch a cheaper Galaxy Fold.
Although it is still a speculation and there is no confirmation from Samsung itself.
But it does make sense to bring an affordable Galaxy Fold in the market in the coming months, and the PCWorld agrees too.
Perhaps, the specifications could be a little modest for cost-cutting.
Also, the foldable screens should be more affordable after a few months when Samsung has sold a few million units of the Galaxy Fold smartphone.
Samsung already has got a smartphone in the premium mid-range segment, which uses the Snapdragon 855 chipset along with other premium features. Latest being the Samsung Galaxy A90 5G.
Samsung can continue the premium mid-range series, by introducing a foldable smartphone and keep the pricing under $1000
Another cost-cutting area could be the internal storage which is currently 512GB on the Galaxy Fold smartphone.
