You might already be aware of India’s governments move to Ban 59 Chinese apps that were posing a threat to the security of the country.

Out of those 59 Apps, TikTok is one of the most popular apps, with 120 million monthly active users. And just after the news about the band broke, a new topic was trending on twitter.

It was about the ban of PUBG since it is also originated from China, which is Tencent, the parent company. and the fact that it is being banned by the neighboring country Pakistan.

Tencent Games may be the Game developer for PUBG Mobile on Play Store, but the fact is, PUBG has been developed in South Korea, and Tencent licenses the game.

The PUBG game is a different version in China, and the game we play is the international version, which is entirely different from the Chinese approved PUBG, as reported by BBC.

So, the answer is that PUBG is not banned in India, at least not at the time of writing, July 2020.

PUBG Banned in Pakistan?

It is indeed true that the Pakistan government has recently banned PUBG in their country, but their reason is entirely different from India’s decision to ban 59 Chinese apps.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) issued the press release and posted it on Twitter, intimating the temporary ban on PUBG games.

In that with attached above, PTA states that the game is addictive and poses a severe impact on the physical and psychological health of children.

After the PUBG ban in Pakistan, the game lovers started trending this #unbanPUBGinpakistan on Twitter.

Nowhere does  PTA mentions that it is posing severe threats to the country’s security, and the decision is taken more on moral grounds, which is likely to be lifted soon, seeing at all the outrage by the gaming enthusiastic in the country.

Will PUBG be banned in India in the Future?

No one can say that with absolute certainty that the game will be banned or not banned in the future, it is doubtful that it will happen.

You can currently install PUBG Mobile for PUBG Mobile Lite from the Play Store, and even if the games are unlisted from the Playstore, there are ways you can still download the PUBG Mobile or PUBG Mobile Lite game.

So if you are a gamer and are worried about the PUBG ban in India, you can relax now.
