Apple Announces These New products, Software Updates, and Features at WWDC 2023

At WWDC 2023, Apple announced new products and updates to existing ones.

15-inch MacBook Air

Finally, the bigger brother of the MacBook Air 13 is here: the MacBook Air 15. It starts from Rs. 1,34,900 and is powered by an M.2 chipset. With its great form factor and a bigger screen, it offers an enhanced experience.

Mac Studio and Mac Studio Pro

Next is the Mac Studio, starting from Rs. 2,09,900. It is powered by M2 Max and M2 Ultra, making it quite powerful. However, the Pro version is even more robust, starting from Rs. 7,29,900. It is powered by M2 Ultra, has 24 cores, 76 GPU cores, and ample memory. It’s a dream machine for video editors using MacBook computers.

iOS 17 and iPadOS 17

Additionally, there is an update for iPhone: iOS 17, set to be released in 2-3 months. It includes features like standby mode, where your smartphone can be used as a bedside clock when not in use. Interactive stickers are now available, allowing you to convert objects from your photos into sticker notes usable in messaging and supported third-party apps. Contact posters for the lock screen add a nice touch as well.

iPad also receives a similar update with iPadOS. Lock screen customization and interactive widgets are now available, along with improvements in the Health app.

Mac OS Sonoma

Mac OS Sonoma will be available when the new iPhone launches, featuring live screensavers, new games, camera reactions, and widget functionality on computers.

Audio

In the audio department, AirPods Pro receive audio improvements, including adaptive audio that combines noise cancellation with awareness of your surroundings. Facetime gets an update allowing its use on Apple TV. WatchOS 10 introduces more updates for cyclists, a mental health feature, and some nominal improvements.

One More Thing

It also had the “One more thing” moment. Apple is entering the world of mixed reality with Apple Vision Pro.

It’s a formidable competitor, surpassing even the Quest Pro from Meta in the features showcased by Apple. However, the price is quite high, at $3499, roughly translating to over Rs 3.5 lakhs.
